US actress Priscilla Presley is to produce a remake of British comedian Peter Sellers' hit 1968 comedy movie, "The Party," the industry press said.
Presley, who was married to rock and roll king Elvis, will team up with the creator of the "Sex in the City" and "Beverly Hills 90210" television series, Darren Star, to produce the picture for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios
Star is also expected to direct the film, based on Sellers' slapstick 1960s classic in which he plays an Indian movie extra who is mistakenly invited to a swinging Hollywood party that goes horribly wrong, the Hollywood Reporter.
The original film was directed by Blake Edwards, who was also responsible for the highly successful "Pink Panther" films also starring Sellers, who died in 1980 at the age of 54.
It was however unclear whether the remake of the film would follow the same storyline as the original, the industry daily said.
